August 20, 2009 HOUSTON–Texas Eye Institute, one of the Gulf Coast’s premier eye care physician groups, announces the opening of their newest location in Katy, Texas. Located at 403 W. Grand Parkway South, Suite E, the newest eye care center is conveniently located just off of I-10, serving residents of Katy and west Houston.

For more than 40 years, the Texas Eye Institute has provided medical expertise in a wide range of eye care services and specialties, from routine eye exams and pediatric eye care to laser vision correction, cataract surgery and corneal transplants. Jesse B. McKey, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, specializing in both medical and surgical conditions of the eye. Dr. McKey joined the Texas Eye Institute after completing his residency at Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. Throughout his career, he has committed himself to the advancement of the field, authoring papers in leading scientific journals and participating in screening programs for various eye diseases. Dr. McKey is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Texas Medical Association.
The Katy branch will also provide pediatric ophthalmology services, thanks to Glenn E. Bulan, MD. Dr. Bulan has been with the Texas Eye Institute since January 2006, specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. Dr. Bulan is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who attended Cornell University and the New York Medical College. Before moving to Houston with his wife and family, Dr. Bulan ran a successful practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts for more than five years, where he was also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Brown Medical School. Dr. Bulan is available for consultation in all aspects of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, including routine yearly exams and complex surgical cases.

Dr. Porter is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializing in surgery of the anterior segment including small incision, “no needle, no patch” cataract, refractive lens and glaucoma surgery.
