Dallas, Texas, Aug 22nd, 2009- Key-Whitman Eye Center, has announced the release of the Whitman Shepherd Double-Ended Capsule Polisher.
Recently, Key-Whitman Eye Center, has announced the release of the Whitman Shepherd Double-Ended Capsule Polisher which was designed by Jeffrey Whitman, MD, of Key-Whitman Eye Center, Dallas, Texas. This device provides a circular metal polisher at each end to allow for cleaning 180 degrees of the capsule in each direction.
The device is designed for removing LECs from the inner surface of the capsule, as the circular ends are ideal for cleaning the equator of the capsular bag prior to Crystalens® insertion. The double-ended design provides a left angled and right angled polisher on one handle for eye surgeon convenience.
The Whitman Shepherd Double-Ended Capsule Polisher is an instrument available in the complete Crystalens® Instrument set provided by Bausch & Lomb Storz Ophthlamics. And other instruments in the set include the Wallace 6mm Capsulorhexis Gauge, Utrata MICS™ Capsulorhexis Forceps, Lindstrom Lens Positioner and Brown Crystalens® Haptic Placement Forceps. The complete set, as well as a video of the Whitman Shepherd Double-Ended Capsule Polisher, can also be viewed. This set of instruments is ideal for the eye surgeon performing Crystalens® insertion.
